Our monthly poetry readings are a place where readers and writers can get together in a friendly space and enjoy literature. We think that good coffee, good food, and good books make for a very worthwhile afternoon. Our readings help to create a community of those who care about meaningful literature, particularly about Anabaptist literature. We generally read original poetry, old classics, and occasionally stories as well, interspersing our reading with discussions and writing exercises. Join us and bring something to read!
We hold our readings at several small cafés in Pennsylvania and Maryland, and always hold them on the first Saturday of the month, except in exceptional situations (such as the next two months!). Here is our schedule for the next few months (note that times differ from place to place):
December—No poetry reading, due to our staff being away
January 11th from 4-6 PM—Hosted by some of our friends
(This reading will be held on the second Saturday of January, due to holiday considerations.)
261 Wabash Road, Ephrata, PA
Look for the property with two barns, a white house, and a white fence. The poetry reading will be held in an upstairs room of the barn which is closest to the road. You may park in either driveway, but the door to the room is on the side of the barn towards the house. It is the door to the right of the overhead roll door. Go up the stairs and you have arrived.
February 1st from 4-6 PM—Pura Vida Coffee
14035 Pennsylvania Ave, Hagerstown, MD
March 7th from 6-8 PM—The Midtown Scholar Bookstore
1302 N 3rd St, Harrisburg, PA
